The Tamil Federation has been approached to assist with finding approximately 150 caIMG_2538dets (interns) for one of the government departments at national level.

They are looking for young unemployed South African graduates of Indian origin between the ages of 18-35. Individuals from all provinces are invited to apply. They must at least be in possession of a senior certificate or matric and a post-matric qualification in any field of study.

This department is committed to bringing diversity into the Department and need our help to find young people of Indian descent to be part of their cadet (internship) programme. The young people joining the cadet programme must be committed to a eighteen month training programme on the National Certificate level. The National Certificate is a typical NQF level 5 fit-for-purpose certificate of competence accredited by SAQA through PSETA.

In line with the recommendations of the National Development Plan to deal with issues of structural unemployment among Youth, training on the National Certificate is divided as follows: 20% theory, 20% simulation, 50% experiential or on the job, 10% Coaching and 10% mentoring.

The cadets will receive a stipend of R 5 000 (per month) for the duration of their training. Upon completion of this programme individuals will be selected and offered permanent posts within the department and will be deployed offices.

March 2015 saw an increase in the activity of the SATF Economic Forum as follows:

Vanakkam all, today the 7th April 2015 our Facebook page boasts 940 members and we have added another 12 members this morning, well done it is an amazing feeling of excitement at the tremendous support that is forthcoming, our target is to have 200 000 members. If we all invite 20 of our contacts we will have 18 800 members and if those 18 800 members invites 20 of their contacts we will have 376 000. We humbly appeal for your help and support, to spread the awareness of the SATF Economic  Forum. Thank you, Mika, Mika Nanri .

SATF Business Forum Monthly News Letter 12/2014

Welcome to the first of a monthly SATF Business forum news letter which you will receive on a regular basis. The business forum is currently being set up in all provinces in South Africa where ever the South Indian community resides. The purpose of this forum is to look at ways to assist the SATF promote and propagate the Tamil religion and culture through its various art forms and Hindu places of worship.

In addition the business forum seeks to engage in various discussions with the various structures to look at ways to economically empower the community it serves through an active members of the forum through membership fees. There is a now an active membership drive taking place in Gauteng which is the first province where the structure is being set up.

It is anticipated that Gauteng will be the experimental province which resolves all the challenges which confronts the provincial structure so that when other provinces are being set up many of the challenges experienced in Gauteng will have been already addressed.

The founding principal of the forum will be that all South Indians who follow the religion and culture will become members and not a selected few individuals who enrich themselves, it is founded on a broad based vision where all will benefit from the business opportunities that will unfold.

We are calling upon anyone who is willing to assist with the membership drive to contact the following regional coordinators to be part of the process:
